How some phrases came to be through English Lore

You usually recognize my posts based on the sports news or sports on the web but now I wanted to share something that I have always found intriguing. What that is would be how some phrases or saying came to be through English history and lore.

The first would be the birth of the expression with the middle finger, today it needs no explanation, the action alone lets people know exactly how you feel about the topic in question.Go HERE for the origins of Flipping the Bird.

The second article deals with such phrases as one for the road, on the wagon, and a pot to piss in.

I hope people enjoy this English Lore as much as I did.
