So unless you are on a desert island somewhere and have no way of getting the news and sports, you will likely be aware that the 2011 World Series starts tonight in St. Louis. The visitors will be the Texas Rangers, the American League Champions for the second straight year.
The St. Louis Cardinals will get the home field advantage this year due to the fact that the National League won the all star game and the league that wins it gets the extra home game in the world series if it is needed. So now that we know the combatants, lets see how they got here.
