The move in question was that the Maple leafs have signed James Reimer to a three year, 5.4 million dollar deal. This works out to 1.8 million a season for Reimer. It gives him some security but also does not put a big hit onto the Leafs salary cap. If Reimer performs as he did last year when he was instrumental in the Leafs playoff run that came up just short, he would be a little under paid. But having said that he was also rewarded for only about half a season of service. The three years will give Reimer a chance to refine his craft without the pressure of not knowing where he will end up.
