Matt Cooke was suspended for the last 10 games of the regular season and the first round of the playoffs for his blatant hit to the head of New York Rangers defenceman Ryan McDonagh.

Mario Lemieux and Ray Shero must have a little egg on their face now after making such a big stink about dirty play in the NHL. Mario even wrote a letter to Bettman calling for stiffer penalties (fines) to teams that harbor these players. Well Mario, put up or shut up, I guess you had better fine your own team to save face. You pay Matt Cooke to play hockey and he is if not the dirtiest then very close to it, player in the league. The guys history of questionable hits makes him the worst active offender in the league. Take the instigator rule out of hockey and guys like Cooke will disappear from the game, either that or they will tone it down. Nothing says clean up your act like a broken jaw for being a jerk.

Cooke may need a couple of body guards when he attends the next NHLPA meeting. http://amplify.com/u/bw75a
